i began practicing yoga in 2001 as an adjunct to running and loved it from the start. beyond the athleticism, i found yoga to be a great stress reliever and heart opener. each class i attended fueled my desire to teach yoga.

 

i completed my yoga alliance 200 hour teacher training in iyengar-style yoga with kim valeri of yogaspirit® studios. after completing the requirements, i earned the distinction of e-ryt. i have also trained in vinyasa yoga, yoga for seniors, core yoga, pilates, and essentrics (classical stretch). i continue to study at the 500 hour yoga therapy level and attend national workshops.

 

i believe that asana is an extremely beautiful part of the practice of yoga. i bring an intuitive awareness to both yoga biomechanics and assists. i work to inspire my students to be open to what yoga can bring to their own lives. yogabody studio was opened with the intention of giving people a friendly place to shed their day or life and enjoy the practice of yoga asana. i encourage my students to move with gratitude and practice with self acceptance and compassion while challenging self imposed limitations, the cornerstones of my own practice.
